Race description
The Valašský Ultra Maraton (VUM) is a challenging three-day stage ultramarathon in the heart of Valašsko and the Beskids. The race is for runners seeking a challenge and discomfort, with progressively tougher stages that test both physical and mental resilience. Each day is longer and more demanding than the previous one, with an emphasis on self-sufficiency and the ability to recover. VUM is not a race for speed, but for endurance and safely completing all stages. The organizers emphasize respect for nature and runner safety.
Highlights
- Three days and three stages, with progressively increasing distance and elevation gain
- Routes pass through the landscapes of Valašsko and the Beskids, including hiking trails, cycle paths, and forest roads
- Maximum self-sufficiency for runners, without traditional aid stations
Additional information
The entry fee includes a participant pack with a cotton T-shirt, a race bib with your name or nickname, access to facilities with toilets and showers, accommodation in your own tent or at a school (limited capacity), refreshments before and after the stages, 1 liter of water on the route halfway through each stage, electronic timing, and online runner tracking. Every participant who completes at least one stage receives a finisher medal, while the exclusive finisher T-shirt is awarded only to those who complete all three stages. If you become exhausted, you can use the organizers’ transport from the course. This is not a team race, but you can run as a pair while competing as individuals. The race is self-supported: runners carry their own refreshments, and the course is not routinely marked, so navigating with GPX is mandatory. Approximately one liter of water per runner is available halfway through each stage. The ALL entry package includes access to facilities and the option of accommodation in your own tent or at a school.
