Race description
The Sokol Race of the Republic in Nový Bydžov is a traditional race held on October 28th to celebrate the founding of Czechoslovakia. The race offers a 4.8 km course for adults, which runs from the town through field paths and the village of Humburky, crossing the Cidlina River over two bridges. For children, shorter routes of 250 m and 420 m are prepared within the Sportring area. The race takes place during normal traffic with organizers at intersections and offers a race packet and a medal in the shape of the republic to all participants.

The race takes place during normal traffic with organizers and volunteers at intersections. The lead runner is guided by a tracker on a bicycle. The race packet includes a start number and gifts from organizers and partners. At the finish line, a medal in the shape of the republic awaits. In case of bad weather, packet distribution is in the lobby of the Sokol Hall; under normal conditions, outside near the clay court. The winners' ceremony for the children's races will take place shortly after their finish. The 4.8 km route mainly consists of field paths, with online registration, refreshments at the finish, parking at the Sokol Hall or Penny Market, and the start on Revoluční Street 774.
